With our ever evolving industry, we understand that old habits are hard to change. We want to show you exactly where Stiletto saves you time, money, and hassle:
-
The Problem with Semi-Closed Piercings: To gently stretch a semi-closed piercing back to 14g, old practices required you to use multiple tapers (a 18g, then a 16g, then finally the 14g). This is time consuming and expensive.
-
Sterilization & Wear and Tear: The old school way also required piercers to constantly bend the taper to work with the jewelry, straighten it back out, and then sterilize it after every single use. This bending and repeated sterilization quickly wears not only the tapers out, but also increases electricity bills, and wears out your autoclave.
The Stiletto Solution:
Old school piercers might be used to stopping in the middle of the taper when doing jewelry transfers, but this should not be done with any of Stiletto's tapers. Our tapers are the exact gauge size and the size is only reached the last 8mm from the end.
The Proper Way: Let's say you are performing a 16g helix piercing, after using your 16g needle, grab your 16g Press-fit taper, push the taper until only the last 8mm is left in the piercing, then stop and slide the jewelry through by connecting the Press-fit pin of your taper to your press-fit jewelry or threadless jewelry. This ensures you've reached the intended size without over inserting a smaller gauge.
